Taldea in plain words
Taldea is a small-group photo app built for people who already know each other — classmates, teammates, roommates, friends on a trip… or who knows.
There are no public profiles, no follower counts and no explore tab. Groups are not searchable or visible inside the app. The only way to join one is through a private link or a QR code shared by someone you already know on apps like WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram or similar, and the QR must be scanned directly from that person. If you don't receive the link or QR, the group simply doesn't exist for you.
What Taldea is
- An app for short-lived photo groups.
- Invite-only: every group begins with a link or QR code.
- Closed by design: only people with the link can view the group.
- No likes, no comments, no public view counts.
- Focused on the present, not long-term archives.
What Taldea is not
- Not a public social network and not a place to browse strangers.
- No open direct messages with unknown users.
- No ads and no third-party advertising trackers.
- Not designed for very young children.
How content works in Taldea
Moments in Taldea are photos taken with the in-app camera and shared directly into a group. They remain visible for a limited time.
- Each moment stays visible for up to 24 hours.
- Groups that go several days without a new moment may be removed, depending on the app settings.
- Once a moment or group expires, it is no longer available inside the app.
Screenshots are technically possible. Taldea cannot prevent someone from capturing their own screen, but the app is designed to make sharing more private than posting to a public feed.
Safety, reporting and group management
Our goal is to keep Taldea safe and respectful for everyone using it. If something inside a group feels wrong, users can report it directly from within the app.
- Users can report a specific photo if it is inappropriate or breaks the rules. Reported photos are reviewed and may be removed.
- Users can also report an entire group if it is being misused for abuse, bullying or other harmful behaviour.
- Group creators can remove members if a group is being misused or if someone is not following the rules.
- Group creators can refresh the group's invite link at any time. When a link is refreshed, all previous links immediately stop working. This prevents unwanted sharing or access through old URLs.
- Our team reviews reports and may remove groups or accounts that break our Terms of Use.
Taldea does not replace conversations between parents, teens or educators about healthy internet use, but we aim to keep the app's rules simple and predictable so expectations are clear.
Using Taldea with parental controls
Taldea works with the same device-level tools already available on iOS and Android, such as Screen Time or digital wellbeing controls.
- You can set time limits for Taldea like any other app.
- You can block or require approval to install Taldea on a child's device.
- You can fully block the app through your existing parental-control solution if you prefer it not to be used at all.
We encourage parents and guardians to talk with teens about who they join groups with, what they share and what to do if something feels wrong.
For schools, teams and group leaders
Taldea may appear in settings where young people gather: schools, sports teams, youth groups or events. If you are a teacher, coach or organiser, we recommend setting clear guidelines for whether and how Taldea should be used during your activities.
If you need to reach us as a school or organisation, you can contact us using the address listed in our Privacy Policy .
