Introduction
We created Taldea so you can share moments with your groups, not so we can build a huge file about you.
This page explains what data we collect, what we use it for, who we share it with and what rights you have.
Quick summary (TL;DR)
- We only collect the data we need to make Taldea work, keep it safe and improve it.
- Your groups are by link/QR and are not public or searchable.
- Each moment (photo) is removed from our databases after 24 hours.
- If a group goes 7 days with no new moments, the group is deleted.
- There are no likes, no comments and no per-photo view counters, only a general views counter for your account.
- We may use individual invite links per person and group to see which invitations work and to grant extra views.
- We may use product analytics tools like Amplitude to understand how the app is used and improve it.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your data in the cases allowed by law.
- When you delete your account, we remove your account and, as far as technically reasonable, groups you created and your active moments, except for data we must keep longer by law.
Who is responsible for your data
The joint controllers of your personal data in Taldea are: Alexander Dolara, and Juan Arias. They jointly decide how and why personal data is processed within the Taldea app.
- Postal address: Ibaigane 7 — 48.930 Las Arenas, Spain
- Privacy email: privacy@taldea.app.
What data we collect
When you use Taldea we may process these categories of data.
- Account data: basic information we receive from your sign-in provider (for example Apple or Google), such as user identifier, name and email address (if the provider shares it).
- App usage data: events related to how you use Taldea, such as when you create or join a group, upload a moment, view a moment (to manage your views) or change certain settings.
- Technical and device data: information needed for the app to work and to improve it, such as device model, operating system version, app version and technical identifiers used for operation and security.
- Content you share (moments): the photos you upload to groups, following Taldea rules (24-hour lifetime for each moment and deletion of groups after 7 days without activity).
- Invites and rewards data: information about invitation links generated per person and group, how those links are used (if they lead to valid new accounts) and data needed to assign extra views or similar rewards.
- Support and communication data: messages or information you send us when you contact us (for example through Instagram DMs or other support channels we use).
How and why we use your data
We process your personal data under the GDPR and Spanish data protection law, mainly on these legal bases.
- Performance of a contract: to provide Taldea and its features, for example letting you join groups, share moments, manage your views and invitations and handle basic account settings.
- Consent: in cases where the law requires it, for example some optional notifications or certain analytics or similar technologies when legally required. You can withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting past processing based on that consent.
- Legitimate interest: to keep Taldea secure, prevent abuse or fraud, understand how the app is used and improve it (for example by analysing usage events in tools like Amplitude) and respond to your questions or incidents. We always try to balance our interests with your rights and freedoms.
How long we keep your data
We only keep your data for as long as needed for the purposes described above or to comply with legal obligations.
- Group content (moments: photos): each moment you share in a group is kept for a maximum of 24 hours from publication. After that, the content is deleted from our databases as far as technically reasonable, except for minimal records required by law (for example certain security logs). If a group goes 7 days in a row without any new moments, the group is deleted and we also delete remaining content associated with that group in our databases under the same conditions.
- Account deletion: when you use the delete-account option we remove your Taldea account and, as far as technically reasonable, groups you created and moments that belong to you and are still active at that time, except for data we must keep longer for legal, security or claim-handling reasons (for example some technical logs).
- Account, usage, invite and technical data in general: these may be kept for longer in aggregated or pseudonymised form to analyse app performance, improve security and understand overall use of Taldea.
- Data linked to legal obligations or potential claims: in some cases we may keep data for the period required by law (for example tax rules, responses to authorities or dispute resolution).
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with the following categories of recipients.
- Service providers: companies that help us operate Taldea, such as cloud hosting, analytics tools (for example Amplitude), security services, notification systems and payment providers if we offer paid plans. They act as processors and only handle data under our instructions and with appropriate safeguards.
- Other users: people in your groups can see the content you share in those groups (moments and some related information). We do not show inside the group which person invited whom, even if we track that internally to manage extra views or other rewards.
- Authorities: when the law requires it, for example in response to requests from competent authorities, court orders or investigations into possible offenses or legal infringements.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may be located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). In such cases we only carry out international data transfers when there are appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or other mechanisms recognised by data protection law.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and Spanish data protection law you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to certain processing, to data portability where applicable and to withdraw consent when processing is based on consent.
To exercise these rights you can write to us at privacy@taldea.app, telling us which right you want to exercise and providing any information needed to identify your account.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in particular in Spain with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or with the authority in your country of residence within the European Union.
Minors
Taldea is intended for people who meet the minimum legal age to use online services in their country and, in all cases, at least 16 years old.
If we become aware that we are processing data from someone who does not meet that minimum age without valid consent from their parents or guardians (where required by law), we will try to delete that information in a reasonable way.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the way Taldea works changes or if data protection laws change. If the changes are important, we will try to notify you through the app or other reasonable channels. By continuing to use Taldea after the update, you are considered to accept the new version of the policy.
